Server, Active Directory & Exchange support
Design, installation, migration and ongoing support for the systems your business logs into every morning.
Migrations are where most of the risk sits
Moving Active Directory or an Exchange mail environment is the kind of work where the difference between a quiet weekend and a very loud Monday is entirely in the preparation. We plan the migration, agree it with you, and carry it out with the rollback position understood in advance.
What we handle
- Microsoft Active Directory design, installation and migration
- Microsoft Exchange mail infrastructure design, installation and migration
- Microsoft SQL administration
- Server installation and support
- VMware ESX installation, design and support
- Virtualization implementations
- Desktop and server hardware sales and support
Virtualization: fewer boxes, less to go wrong
Running several physical servers where a virtualized environment would do means more hardware to fail, more to power, and more to maintain. Where it makes sense for your setup, we design and implement virtualization on VMware ESX — consolidating servers so there is less physical equipment to keep alive, and recovery is faster when something does go wrong.
Where it does not make sense, we will say so. Not every business benefits from it.
Kept maintained, not just installed
Servers are included in our proactive monitoring and preventative maintenance programs, so the environment is watched rather than left until someone reports a problem. That is the same approach we take to the rest of your core infrastructure.
Common questions
Can you migrate us without downtime?
Migrations are planned around your business hours to keep disruption to a minimum, and we agree the approach with you before starting. We will be straight with you about what downtime a particular migration realistically requires rather than promise none.
Do you support both on-premise servers and hosted mail?
Yes. We design and support on-premise Exchange infrastructure, and we also provide email hosting and domain hosting where that is the better fit.
Our server is old. Do we have to replace it?
Not necessarily. We assess what you have first. If it is genuinely at end of life we will explain why, and what the risk of leaving it is — including what it would cost you if it failed.
